We ride because Food=Medicine
Over the weekend of May 12-14th, I will once again be riding my bike 140 miles from Ocean City to Baltimore, MD in support of Moveable Feast as a co-captain of the Rebels with a Cause.
For 27 years, Moveable Feast, has been providing home-delivered nutritious meals to Marylanders living with HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, and other serious illnesses. I've been fortunate enough to get to this organization for the past 6 of those years as a volunteer, fundraiser, rider and board member.
Moveable Feast's service is more than a meal. It's community, care and companionship for someone who's homebound from their team of delivery drivers and dietitians, it's the strength to fight back against cancer or HIV that comes from a fresh healthy cooked meal, it's keeping people in their homes and on the road to health and not back in the emergency room, it's culinary job-training taking place in their kitchen in East Baltmiore in the prepartion of these very meals, simply put it's HOPE.
As part of this two-day ride, I’ve committed to personally raise $1,500, the cost of providing meals and hope to one Moveable Feast client for an entire year. I thank you in advance for your consideration in supporting Moveable Feast.
100% of your donation goes directly to the services provided to their clients
“Moveable Feast is more than just the nutrition that they give you food-wise; they give you spirit. It changes your life.” Marvin, a Moveable Feast client.
