And this year it is especially meaningful to me, as shortly after last year's ride I was diagnosed with TNBC (triple negative breast cancer) and I have found out first hand how unspeakably wonderful it is to have my incredible community help me through, including bringing healthy meals so my loved ones and I can concentrate on resting, healing, and being together. And being strong enough to make the ride is a huge motivating factor in my own journey!!
Ride for the Feast is a 2-day, 140-mile Maryland bike ride from Ocean City to Baltimore City, May 2-3, 2020.
The event raises money for Moveable Feast, the only Maryland nonprofit that delivers healthy meals to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Moveable Feast services are provided in Baltimore City, the 5 surrounding counties and on the Eastern Shore, all at no cost to clients. Last year, MF delivered 743,940 life-saving meals to 6,060 Marylanders. This ride is also symbolic - the fundraising minimum of $1,500 is the equivalent of the food costs for feeding one client for a year. 140 miles represents the furthest distance Moveable Feast travels to deliver to a client.
With your help, we are working to deliver 1 million meals in a single year – each one made and delivered with love. 100% of your donation goes directly back into the services provided to our clients. Your support will aid thousands of our neighbors here in Maryland.
“Moveable Feast is more than just the nutrition that they give you food-wise; they give you spirit. It changes your life.” Marvin, a Moveable Feast client.
