On May 2nd and 3rd, I will be participating in my 9th year of cycling 140 miles from Ocean City to Baltimore, Maryland in the fundraising event, Ride for the Feast. Many of you are familiar with this ride and why it is a passion of mine: it is the primary fundraiser for Moveable Feast, a non-profit organization based in Baltimore City that prepares and delivers nutritious meals to homebound people with HIV/AIDS or other serious illnesses.
More than ever we need to get involved with our communities, especially those in need. It is hard for me to believe that we still need to fight hunger in this country but we do. Moveable Feast is one of those non-profits that fill an urgent need for sick people who cannot leave their homes and lack the support structure to help them prepare healthy meals.
Background on Moveable Feast:The Ride for the Feast raises money for Moveable Feast, the only Maryland nonprofit that delivers healthy meals to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Moveable Feast services are provided in Baltimore City, the 5 surrounding counties and on the Eastern Shore, all at no cost to clients. Last year, Moveable Feast delivered 743,940 life-saving meals to 6,060 Marylanders.
With your help, we are working to deliver 1 million meals in a single year – each meal made and delivered with love. 100% of your donation goes directly back into the services provided to our clients. Your support will aid thousands of our neighbors here in Maryland.
Thanks for considering supporting me and a cause that is close to my heart.
“Moveable Feast is more than just the nutrition that they give you food-wise; they give you spirit. It changes your life.” Marvin, a Moveable Feast client.
