I AM GOING TO RIDE MY BIKE 140 MILES IN LESS THAN A MONTH: Ride for the Feast is a 2-day, 140-mile Maryland bike ride from Ocean City to Baltimore City, May 12-13, 2018.
Now that we've gotten my bragging out of the way, the more IMPORTANT part of this ride is that it is a fundraiser, for Moveable Feast. I have raised $1200 of the minimum $1500, through a super fun event that involved floating in hammocks. That greatest part of the event is that it brought in new supporters for this amazing organization. Maybe you could be a supporter too? Please consider donating to our ride, I don't have far to go! (except for, you know, the 140 miles on a bike in less than a month.)
The event raises money for Moveable Feast, the only Maryland nonprofit that delivers healthy meals to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our services are provided in Baltimore City, the 5 surrounding counties and on the Eastern Shore, all at no cost to our clients. Last year, Moveable Feast delivered 815,313 life-saving meals to 5,060 Marylanders. This ride is also symbolic - the fundraising minimum of $1,500 equals the amount it costs to feed one client for a year. 140 miles represents the furthest distance Moveable Feast travels to deliver to a client.
With your help, we are working to deliver 1 million meals in a single year – each one made and delivered with love. 100% of your donation goes directly back into the services provided to our clients. Your support will aid thousands of our neighbors here in Maryland.
“Moveable Feast has been the best thing that has happened to me. These wonderful people fulfill a service that has literally changed my life!!! Thank you!” John, a Moveable Feast client.
