This upcoming May, I will be participating in Ride for the Feast, a charity bike ride that takes place over 2 days. I will be biking a total of 140 miles, the distance from Ocean City, Maryland to Baltimore City. Over the next few months, I aim to raise $1,500 for the Ride with your support.
The Ride raises money for Moveable Feast, the only Maryland nonprofit that delivers healthy meals to people living with HIV, cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses. Services are provided in Baltimore City, the 5 surrounding counties and on the Eastern Shore, all at no cost to clients. Last year, Moveable Feast delivered 743,940 life-saving meals to 6,060 Marylanders. This ride is also symbolic - the fundraising minimum of $1,500 is the equivalent to the food costs to feeding one client for a year. 140 miles represents the furthest distance Moveable Feast travels to deliver to a client.
Through volunteering with Moveable Feast, I've had the priviledge to enter the homes of clients where I witnessed the profound impact this organization has on their quality of life. Please consider making a donation to help support thousands of our neighbors here in Maryland. 100% of your donation goes directly back into the services provided to our clients. Thank you so much!
"I have a better eating habit and portioned meals now. I am very afraid of dying and you are really giving me hope. I have to eat a certain way and you all have been so helpful with that. I worry about my heart disease all the time and now having food is one less thing on top of that."- Moveable Feast client
